The sun caressed the Termal Bologna Marathon lighting up the smiles of the 10,000 athletes involved in the five distances of the entire weekend, a day full of emotions that also celebrated the men's record of the marathon race, the men's and women's record of the 21 km Run Tune Up course and the men's record of the 30 km dei Portici course.
TERMAL BOLOGNA MARATHON RESULTS
Men's race report
The first passage at km 7.5 sees the Israeli Dvir Yossi in the lead with a time of 20'56" followed by the Kenyans Martin Cheruiyot and Enos Kales Kakopil, respectively in 22'30" and 22'49". The first national representative is Alessio Milani in 24'45". At km 13, Cheruiyot leads in 39'58" with Kakopil in 41'09" and Riccardo Vanetti in 44'10". Martin Cheruiyot was solitary at km 24 in 1:17:00, arriving at the finish line after a solo run that, with a time of 2:21:55, is worth the race record, shaving off almost 30” from the previous one, in the legs of his compatriot Simon Kamau Njeri who had held it with 2:22:28 since last year.
“I immediately pressed on the accelerator to build up a bit of an advantage, I knew that the course was not easy. Luckily the weather was ideal,” said the winner. “I found myself alone, I am happy with how I conducted the race,” concluded Cheruiyot.
After the 34th km, Alessio Milani (Atl. Monfalcone) opened the gas to cross the finish line in second place overall in 2:28:22, leaving the lowest step of the podium to the Kenyan Enos Kales Kakopil in 2:29:12.”
Women's race report
For the women, Giorgia Venturi passed in 29'03" followed by the Finnish Jutta Paajamaa and the Lithuanian Neringa Cobb, respectively in 30'18" and 30'19". The race head frozen at km 13, Venturi in 51'09", Paajamaa in 53'24" and Cobb in 53'29". Always in the lead Giorgia Venturi (Pod. Ozzanese) who significantly improved her personal best and climbed onto the highest step of the podium crossing the finish line in 2h53'02" with great enthusiasm.
"I really hoped to improve my personal best, and here I am, at the finish line as a winner", began the winner, a nurse in everyday life. "I have always run alone, I am very happy". Second place for Arianna Castellan (Ass. Atl. N.E.VI) in 3h10’42”, third place for Polish Paulina Sienkiewicz Gadzikowska in 3h11’13”.
THE RESULTS OF 21 KM RUN TUNE UP
Men’s race report
First passage for Luis Matteo Ricciardi (Asd Dinamo Running) in 40’47” at the 13th km, immediately followed by the Danish Gustav Krøll in 40’52” and the Spanish Felipe Gomez Severino in 42’00”. The race remains unchanged at km 18 with Ricciardi leading in 56’36”, Krøll in 56’57” and Severino in 58’37”.
Victory for Luis Matteo Ricciardi (Asd Dinamo Running) who with a time of 1h06’35” shatters the race record, belonging to Francesco Mariani with 1h08’17” in 2024, and also hits his personal best. Second place for the Spaniard Felipe Gomez Severino in 1h08’54” and third place for Johannes Tegner (Ak Maximir Zagreb) 1h10’41”.
Women’s race report
At km 13, in the women’s race, Marika Accorsi passes in 46’30” followed by the Ethiopian Asmerawork Wolkeba Bekele in 46’35” and by her teammate Giulia Vettor in 47’50”.
Frozen positions at the finish line, where Marika Accorsi (CUS Parma) makes a void and crumbles the race record, previously in the legs of Rosa Alfieri from 2024 who had run in 1h24’21”, crossing the finish line in 1h15’50”. “I am very excited to have run on this beautiful course, it was my first participation in this race, I am really happy and it is a good test in view of the Italian cross country”, said the winner. Second place for the Ethiopian Asmerawork Wolkeba Bekele who arrives late in 1h18’15” with Giulia Vettor (CUS Parma), third overall, on her heels, in 1h18’28”.
Also present were the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Bologna Roberta Li Calzi (Lolli Auto Asd) and the Councilor for Tourism, Commerce and Sport of the Emilia-Romagna Region Roberta Frisoni (Rimini Marathon Unstoppable), both finishing in 1h56’51”.
“I am very happy, also to have completed my race in less than two hours, a good time for someone like me who fits the race between a thousand commitments. For me, running such a well-organized event, in my city, collecting enthusiastic comments from people who have come from all over Italy and all over the world, happy to have enjoyed the routes in the city center, the hospitality and our good food is a great privilege”, commented Councilor Li Calzi.

Men’s race report
Leading group at km 7.5 with Gianluca Scardovi (Runcard) in 24’22, Davide Parisi and Elia Generali in 24’32”. At km 13 the race leader is Scardovi, Parisi and Generali, all in 43’49”. Victory in 1h44’48” for Davide Parisi (Lagarina Crus Team) who changes pace and leaves everyone behind, also breaking the race record of 1h47’57” belonging to Daniele Lanza from the last edition.
“I ran in the group until about the 25th, then I stretched out. The route requires muscular effort but it is very beautiful and I appreciated the warm cheering, I will be back. I chose to participate in preparation for the debut on the queen distance”, commented the winner.

Women's race report
The women's leader at the first pass is Federica Cicognani in 28'28", a handful of seconds behind Sara Boer in 28'38" followed by Cristina Gogna (Atl. Verbano) in 29'04". Cicognani still leading at km 13 with 50'25" followed by Boer in 51'14" while Camilla Vittori Venenti climbs to third place in 51'48".
Federica Cicognani (Atl Imola Sacmi Avis) doubles her time by over 5' on this route stopping the clock at 2h01'06". "I'm very happy, it was a beautiful day, Bologna is a must for me thanks also to the enthusiastic cheering", declared the winner. Behind her was Sara Boer (Asd KM Sport) in 2h03’11” who ran with the breath of Camilla Vittori Venenti (Runners Bergamo) on her neck, third in 2h03’29”.
Italian Deaf Sports Federation Championship Italy (FSSI)
The Italian Deaf Sports Federation Championship Italy (FSSI) was also held over the 30 km distance. Victory for Silvio Licastro (Cosenza K42) in 1h50’43” followed by Alessandro Vizzini (Asd Pachino Running) with a time of 1h55’04” and Giorgio Battistello (Asd Runners Valcalepio) in 2h223’59”.
In the women's category, as predicted, victory for Cristina Gogna (Atl. Verbano) in 2h05'53" who precedes Chiara Sparviero (Sisport SSD) in 2h24'33" in turn with a great advantage over Rosa Larocca (Violettaclub) in 2h48'36".
TECNOCASA BOLOGNA CITYRUN 5K
A great party with 3 thousand attendees, many Bolognese at the Tecnocasa Bologna City Run 5 km. Among the participants, Gianni Morandi in the company of the singer-songwriter Alessandro Maraniello and his friend of many adventures, the former Italian marathon runner Laura Fogli.
Saturday 1 March, TIGOTÀ KIDS MARATHON
Hundreds of children who put their courage to the test, defying a few drops of rain and transforming Piazza Maggiore into the stage of fun branded Tigotà KIDS Marathon, which hosted many initiatives designed to involve the little ones.

A colorful and smiling river of athletes illuminated by a beautiful sunny day in which important themes such as sustainability, solidarity, sociality have won.
