On Saturday, March 1, Piazza Maggiore will become the center of a special day dedicated to children, hosting the second edition of the Tigotà Kids Marathon, part of the Termal Bologna Marathon 2025. Children aged 4 to 10 will be the true stars of this event, which is not just a fun run but an opportunity to enjoy the joy of movement in a unique setting.

Starting at 11:00 AM, the little runners can have fun in a race designed for them, filled with smiles, friendship, and community spirit, in the same place where adults will compete in the main race the following day. The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality of Bologna and the CSI - Bologna Territorial Committee, and made possible thanks to the valuable support of Emil Banca, aims to promote not only sports but also values of inclusion, well-being, and respect for the environment. Running together becomes a way to rediscover the joy of being outdoors, amidst culture and nature, forging connections and experiencing an unforgettable moment.

An experience to remember!

Each participant will receive a race kit that includes fantastic gadgets provided by the title sponsor Tigotà, the official event t-shirt from Joma, a "finisher" medal, and a mini refreshment at the end. Additionally, thanks to Culligan, the official water partner of the event, an educational kit will be provided to raise awareness among children about the importance of water and environmental conservation. There will also be activities and workshops dedicated to families and children, bringing life to Piazza Maggiore throughout the day and turning the event into a true celebration for the entire community.

How to Participate:

Registration is open online until February 27, 2025, for a maximum of 500 participants, at a cost of 5 euros, including fees. It will soon be possible to register at Tigotà stores in Bologna and the surrounding area. If there are still bibs available, in-person registration will be possible at the race office located at Palazzo D’Accursio (Piazza Maggiore) on February 28 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on March 1 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, during which bibs, participation kits, and t-shirts will also be distributed.

There are already 5,000 competitive athletes registered for the Fidal races, including about 1,800 foreigners, for the following events: the 21 Km Run Tune Up, the 30 Km dei Portici, and the Termal Bologna Marathon. There are only a few bibs left for the latter, and it is quickly approaching a sold-out status, especially with the upcoming price increase scheduled for Saturday, January 11. A total of 7,000 runners will be admitted, in addition to the expected 3,000 participants for the Tecnocasa Bologna City Run, a non-competitive 5 Km charity race open to walkers and families.
