The Termal Bologna Marathon will be the stage for the third edition of the ANCIU University Trophy, which will be held over the half marathon and marathon distances. The event is open to all employees of Italian universities, including researchers, professors, administrative staff, grant holders and collaborators.

Sunday 2 March 2025 will be a day dedicated to sport, with several competitions that will liven up Bologna: in addition to the marathon and the half marathon - in which university employees from all over Italy will compete - there will also be the 30 Km dei Portici and the Tecnocasa Bologna CityRun, a non-competitive 5 km charity race in the heart of the historic center.

“We are happy to have strengthened the bond between the Termal Bologna Marathon and ANCIU,” say Federico Soldani, ANCIU sports manager, and Francesca Montuschi, ANCIU national running manager. “This event represents an important opportunity to consolidate the sports community of university employees and promote the spirit of aggregation and healthy competition. A marathon is not just a race, but a symbol that reflects the character and energy of the city that hosts it. And Bologna, with its ancient academic tradition and its innovative spirit, is the ideal place to host this initiative.”

The day will culminate with the awarding of the winners, divided into male and female categories. Before the awarding of the prizes, there will be a solemn moment in which representatives of Italian universities and ANCIU delegates will take the stage to celebrate the participants and winners.
